Yang attended a sports-specialty high school in Beijing, and fell in love with UCLA during a summer vacation to the U.S. After his experience, he desperately wanted to study at UCLA and turned to WholeRen Education for help with applying to his dream school.
In order to help Yang realize his dream, a WholeRen advisor designed a one-and-a-half-year academic promotion plan with a detailed outline of learning goals.
With WholeRen‘s help, Yang’s GPA was raised from 3.3 to 3.7, and his high scores on TOEFL and SAT resulted in him eventually receiving an offer from UCLA.

Wu, a high school student in the U.S., was very interested in science, but not very interested in furthering his English abilities. He planned to pursue physics after graduating from high school but unfortunately his English was not quite at the required level, and he did not have a good relationship with his advisor. Wu’s WholeRen tutor was able to kindle his passion for learning and he began to make more of an effort, allowing Wu to build a relationship with his advisor.
WholeRen worked with Wu to improve his academic standing with an emphasis on English and Science. Wu’s advisor tracked his academic performance and stayed in close communication with him, patiently guiding him along every step. In addition to helping with academics, Wu’s tutor also shared useful information about campus life, guided/developed his interests, and educated him about homestay life in the U.S.
Wu made great academic progress and also developed a better relationship with his advisor. He learned to read and critically analyze questions independently, and now maintains a solid academic record.

Wang is a high school student in the U.S. who has encountered many difficulties in English and other subjects. His parents were worried about his studying in the U.S. and hoped Wholeren could help him improve his study abilities and apply for Top 50 universities in the future.
WholeRen offered Wang a full-semester advising service and customized a comprehensive plan for him. Initially, Wang’s tutor paid more attention to his English in order to encourage him to increase his interest in learning English to create a solid foundation from which to learn. His WholeRen tutor taught him how to use an effective learning method and made an English study plan for him, tracking his learning performances with his parents in China. The second step was focusing on his Science subjects and his WholeRen tutor trained him with different exercises and quizzes, ensuring he fully understood the complex material.
Wang developed appropriate study skills and made progress in each subject steadily. He showed more interest in studying English, and became willing to review his vocabulary proactively.

Study Tour

WholeRen Education Group brings top-tier educational resources from China and America. WholeRen and Peking Elementary school have held an American Middle School Exchange Program in Pittsburgh, PA at the Winchester Thurston School for the last half-decade. It is a STEAM program (Science + Technology + Engineering + Art + Mathematics) to allow for cultural immersion and language learning to take place across several levels.
The students studied at prestigious American schools and made friends with local students. They also stayed with host families so that they could experience American culture more intimately . Students visited the CMU Robotics Lab, the University of Pittsburgh, Carnegie Museums, Carnegie Science Center and more.
The 3-week immersion study tour included: city explorations in Washington DC, Pittsburgh, Niagara Falls and New York City, studying in Winchester Thurston School alongside American students, and fun after-school activities.
“I really liked this school and this trip. My classmates communicated with me on a deep level and helped me get to learn more about American culture through experience. Therefore, I was really grateful to my classmates and teachers for welcoming me with open arms. What I liked most about the trip was the classes because the environment was both friendly and energetic, and I felt like I was able to fully immerse myself in the American school experience. Graduate Application

Chen had a strong academic record and some extracurricular and volunteer experiences. However, Chen lacked professional internship experiences and research project experiences.
A Wholeren application advisor and Chen worked together to identify schools Chen wanted to apply to. Chen and his advisor brainstormed insights for his personal statement which highlighted his characteristics and academic achievement, all while continuing to update the graduate admissions officers of Chen’s continued achievements while his applications were under review.
Chen received offers from Yale University, the University of Pennsylvania, Cornell University, John Hopkins University, and the University of California-Berkeley. Chen matriculated at UC-Berkeley.

Undergraduate Application
Reimagine who you are: Zero to 50.
Li’s dream school was New York University and his academic record was strong with a GPA of 3.6, TOEFL score of 100 and an ACT score of 29. He was also one of the most active members in social activities. Li worked without support on his college applications only to find that he was rejected by the universities he applied for.
A Wholeren professional advisor talked with Li about his university applications and discovered that he was a competitive applicant given his background. What was missing, however, was an outstanding personal statement and resume/CV. The Wholeren professional application advisor brainstormed with Li, discussed components of his application and worked with Li to prepare an organized, detailed and focused application for his second try at U.S. college admission.
Li received offers from New York University, Boston University and the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He chose to enroll at his dream school, New York University.

High school Application

Jiang’s academic scores were strong with a TOEFL score of 100 and an SSAT score of 1900. His average grade in his Chinese school was an A. However, he was rejected by all 10 of the U.S. high schools that he applied for due to his lack of presentation skills and lack of co- and extracurricular experience.
His WholeRen advisor recommended a comprehensive application plan which would focus on Jiang’s academic and social development.
He improved his language skills with the help of biweekly advising and mock interview sessions. He then received several offers from schools and ultimately decided to attend Winchester Thurston. Winchester Thurston School is an independent, coeducational preparatory school located in the Shadyside neighborhood of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. This high school is ranked as third in Best Private K-12 Schools in the Pittsburgh Area with an excellent student-teacher ratio of 9:1.

Liu earned a solid TOEFL score and had completed most of Columbia’s prerequisite courses. In addition, Liu had also participated in many co- and extracurricular activities over the years. However, Liu’s GPA was not competitive enough to apply to the top10 universities.
A WholeRen advisor helped Liu prepare and refine necessary application materials. A U.S. born, Native English speaking advisor from WholeRen helped Liu revise his statement, correcting grammatical mistakes as well as rebuilding the structural content of Liu’s personal statement to highlight his strongest features.
